What is OpenRealtor? OpenRealtor is a database of buying agent terms to help inform homebuyers experienced and new on choosing the best agent for them.

Why do Buyers Agent Commissions Matter to Homebuyers?

Following the recent NAR ruling, homebuyers are liable for up to the full cost of their buyers agent commission, which is usually tens of thousands of dollars. Choosing the right buyers agent by commission helps you make a more competitive offer.

How does it work? For homebuyers, you can anonymously submit buyers agent commission(s) that you receive and additional contextual information on this form. You can submit a buyer’s agreement even if you just received it and haven’t signed it.

Is it anonymous? Yes. We do not ask for your email or name, only the details of buyers representation agreements that you have received.

Why are we doing this? We are homebuyers ourselves and found the process of negotiating commissions to be a black box. Through community contributions like yours, we hope to provide transparency to homebuyers on current market rates for buyers agents in your area.
